The Venice Golf and Country Club Foundation

"Giving beyond our gates"

Since 2005, The Venice Golf and Country Club Foundation has been supporting nonprofit agencies that serve the greater Venice area through its annual grant program.

As of March 2018, the Foundation has awarded a total of
$472,765 to 62 different agencies that provide important health, educational, social environmental and cultural benefits. Each grant cycle begins in early fall with an open application period, followed by screening, evaluation and site visits conducted by a committee of Foundation member
volunteers.

This year, a record $50,000 was approved to be awarded to 19 agencies. The grants were presented at the Foundation’s annual awards luncheon.

The Foundation’s funding comes primarily from annual membership fees of $100 (or more) from residents of The Venice Golf and Country Club, “fun”draising events and
other private donations. Participation is voluntary, and all contributions are fully tax-deductible. The VGCC Foundation is a donor advised fund administered by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation; however, the VGCC Foundation Board of Directors retains full decision making powers over how our funds are distributed.

Current Board members are: Del Borgsdorf, President; Sharon Williams, Vice President; Peter Griggs, Treasurer; Edie Haack, Secretary; Marc Fenton, Membership; Bill Matthews, Development; Kari Jackson, Communications; Michael Gness, Club representative; Christine Zimpher, Master Association representative.
